6 Bed House with En Suite at Lamu Town

The house is situated in Lamu town, rebuilt and renovated between 2010 and 2013. The ground floor consists of an entrance hallway, kitchen, store room, large semi-sectioned dining and common room/relaxing area, dip pool, shower area and massage room. The house offers six (6) bedrooms, all ensuite with showers and toilets. The two central rooms are the largest, each with a spacious bedroom and contiguous relaxing areas. The remaining four rooms are similarly spacious, with one having a small balcony. Each room is equipped with fans, large Lamu double beds, surround mosquito netting, carpets, wardrobes, electrical outlets, desks, chairs and lighting. All windows are open (no glass) and are closed with shutters adding to the circulation of air and breeze providing agreeable cross ventilation in each room. The house has one adjoining neighbor, and 2 others opposite across the streets. The fourth side is ‘open’ as the adjoining site is a small museum on which no development is allowed. This gives an open view onto the Lamu Sound. The Dining area is close to the kitchen on the ground floor and can seat a total of 14 people around locally made Lamu designed tables and chairs of high and comfortable quality. Due to the house layout there are two flat roof terraces shaded with wooden gazebos covered in passion fruit climbers. Guests can sunbathe on sunbed mattresses on the wooden sunbeds or relax under the gazebo shade. The house has its own fresh water well. Internet was installed in 2022.
